Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at SouthCoast Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic technique and OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards.
- Identify and label specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct laboratory tests on specimens and maintain patient logs with date, patient name, lab accession number, lab test ordered, and laboratory used to perform testing.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform daily maintenance, quality control, quality assurance, and sample analysis.
- Review and report patient test results using laboratory instrumentation and test kits.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer Associate Degree or Vocational School program for phlebotomy from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience.
- Prefer licensure, registry, or certification, ASCP or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as Phlebotomist.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
