Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at SouthCoast Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic technique and OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards.
  • Identify and label specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct laboratory tests on specimens and maintain patient logs with date, patient name, lab accession number, lab test ordered, and laboratory used to perform testing.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance, quality control, quality assurance, and sample analysis.
  • Review and report patient test results using laboratory instrumentation and test kits.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer Associate Degree or Vocational School program for phlebotomy from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer licensure, registry, or certification, ASCP or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as Phlebotomist.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
