Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

About the Role

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at UNC Health Care, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Your expertise in ultrasound technology will enable you to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen, and small body parts examinations.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including assessment of patient history, documentation of anatomy and pathology, and producing and summarizing documentation of procedure findings.
  2. Collaborate with physicians to provide accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and stored.
  4. Participate in quality assurance activities, including reviewing patient charts and films for correlation and identifying areas for improvement.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in ultrasound technology and best practices through ongoing education and training.

Requirements

  • RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
