We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Clayton, NC. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.
Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Administer oral solutions according to established procedures.
- Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
- Enter data accurately and navigate computer systems.
- Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
- Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, and filing.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
