Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Clayton, NC. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities
  1. Collect blood specimens from patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  2. Administer oral solutions according to established procedures.
  3. Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  4. Enter data accurately and navigate computer systems.
  5. Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  6. Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, and filing.
  7. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  8. Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
  9. Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
