Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is on the lookout for a Clinical Laboratory Operations Supervisor to lead a dedicated team of professionals committed to enhancing human health through innovative research. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative spirit, a keen scientific curiosity, and a passion for continuous learning in various scientific fields. At Lovelace Biomedical, we engage in a multitude of advanced research and development projects within a hybrid contract-academic framework, providing R&D services across pharmaceutical, chemical, and agricultural sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager and Director of Pathology, the Clinical Laboratory Operations Supervisor will:
- Conduct a range of standard laboratory procedures and maintenance tasks across Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Coagulation, and Urinalysis in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the administrative management of the laboratory, including staff scheduling, inventory oversight, and quality control documentation review.
- Provide training and technical guidance to laboratory personnel, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Oversee data quality control and act as the primary contact for the Clinical Pathology Laboratory.
- Perform additional duties as required to support laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience or a combination of education and training that demonstrates comparable skills.
- Proficiency in executing a variety of laboratory procedures using standard equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership capabilities to train and supervise staff effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to department-specific software.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves working in a laboratory setting, requiring the ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks that necessitate manual dexterity. Candidates should be prepared to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and wear personal protective equipment as necessary. The position may involve exposure to research animals and hazardous materials, necessitating compliance with safety protocols.
