Thermal Insulation Technician

The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying, removing, and repairing insulating materials on various surfaces or structures, including air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings, to manage noise and maintain temperature control. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints and select appropriate insulation materials.
• Work comfortably at heights.
• Apply adhesives or attach metal applications to insulation materials.
• Assess and select insulation materials (in sheet, tubular, or roll form) such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on their thermal retention capabilities, location, surface type, shape, and intended use.
• Utilize measuring tools to cut insulation materials to specified dimensions for covering flat or round surfaces, employing handsaws, knives, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation materials to structures in accordance with blueprint specifications.
• Secure insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, or tape, using staple guns, trowels, paintbrushes, or caulking guns, depending on the insulation type and structure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education: – No minimum educational requirements.

Certifications/ Licenses: TWIC CARD, NCCER, and Driver's License.

Experience: – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
