Position Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of piston aircraft. This position involves implementing effective strategies and procedures to meet maintenance goals while ensuring the smooth scheduling of tasks. The supervisor will lead a dedicated team of A&P Mechanics, Apprentices, and Line Service Technicians, while also engaging in hands-on A&P Mechanic responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor all aircraft maintenance and repair activities to ensure adherence to scheduled timelines.
  • Collaborate with Parts personnel, Aircraft Maintenance Controllers, and other team members to assess labor, parts, and supply requirements for the maintenance of assigned aircraft.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturers' specifications, and internal policies during all maintenance operations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in optimal working condition, adhering to safety and operational standards.
  • Delegate and complete maintenance tasks efficiently to reduce labor hours and minimize errors.
  • Perform skilled manual and technical work as necessary to maintain aircraft and engines, ensuring airworthiness.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals and safety information to accurately execute maintenance procedures.
  • Manage documentation processes to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports and correspondence regarding maintenance operations, status updates, and associated costs.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic License.
  • A minimum of five years of general aviation maintenance experience, particularly in troubleshooting, inspecting, and maintaining power plant systems, lubrication systems, intake and exhaust systems, and electrical systems on piston-powered training aircraft.
  • At least one year of prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Possession of FAA Inspection Authorization.
