Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Driver/Maintenance Tech to join our team at HRA. As a key member of our maintenance and transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Driver Essential Functions:
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and requirements at all times.
    • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles inside and out.
    • Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance and resident requests.
    • Calculate and manage trip costs, obtain charge paperwork from residents, and forward bills to the Business Office Manager.
    • Record mileage and maintain vehicle logs.
    • Track gas purchases and submit bills to the Supervisor as directed.
    • Maintain a first aid kit and perform specific work duties as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment.
    • Exhibit a courteous and helpful demeanor at all times to provide excellent service to residents and team members.
    • Ensure all residents and passengers are safely buckled in their seats when transporting.
    • Understand and follow protocol for reporting accidents and incidents to the proper authorities.
    • Understand that talking or texting and using personal music devices while driving is prohibited.
  • Maintenance Essential Functions:
    • Perform upkeep of floors, including carpet cleaning, deodorizing, and sanitizing in a timely manner.
    • Inspect hallways daily for needed carpet cleaning.
    • Perform community trash removal at the start of each work day.
    • Perform all duties at a reasonable pace, allowing for safety and attention to detail.
    • Perform routine maintenance and repair throughout the community as directed, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
    • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the Supervisor.
    • Report all hazardous conditions to the Supervisor or appropriate manager immediately.
    • Ensure all maintenance items are kept in a safe area to prevent injuries to residents, associates, and visitors.
    • Be subject to recall after hours and be on-call for weekends and holidays in the event of a maintenance emergency.
    • Obtain proper authorization prior to entering any apartment.
    • Report all on-the-job injuries according to company procedure.
    • Be mindful of Resident's Rights to Privacy and resident confidentiality when interacting with residents and/or family members.
    • Take ownership for associate's safety and the safety of the residents.
    • Disclose any medication that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently.
Requirements
  • High school education.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Driving record acceptable to the company insurance carrier.
  • At least 25 years old.
  • Minimum one-year experience preferred.
  • Good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
  • Ability to load and unload wheelchair-dependent residents in a safe, caring, and courteous manner.
  • Exceptional knowledge of all aspects of safe driving.
