Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at MemorialCare Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Palliative Care Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary and specialized care to patients, including examination, evaluation, and recommendation for treatment.
  • Rounding and care of patients through performance of clinical duties, including consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests, and prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies.
  • Develop treatment plans to facilitate the continuum of care and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery.
  • Function as a consultant, educator, resource, and role model for patients, families, the community, and nursing staff.
  • Assist with the development of the Palliative Care Program using evidence-based guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of California.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • National certification in a nurse practitioner specialty preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS & ACLS for Healthcare Providers card.
  • Eligible for approval of privileges to practice within the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center as an Allied Health Professional through the medical staffing office.
  • Current DEA registration or eligible.
  • Critical Care and Palliative Care experience preferred.
  • NP furnishing license.
  • Hospice & Palliative Care certification preferred.
