Company Overview: Lydian is a pioneering renewable energy development firm supported by Excelsior Energy Capital, focusing on the creation and implementation of large-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across North America. The company boasts a robust pipeline of approximately 6.5 GW in solar and storage initiatives, with significant projects anticipated to reach NTP in the near future.
Position Summary: Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Counsel will serve as an in-house expert in key operational areas, while also providing guidance on legal risks and opportunities throughout the organization. Key responsibilities encompass:
- Facilitating project delivery and transactional activities
- Supporting organizational growth and development
- Ensuring corporate governance and compliance
- Collaborating across various departments to enhance legal functions
The Counsel's objective is to integrate seamlessly into a high-performing, efficient, and commercially savvy legal team, acting as a strategic partner to business units.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4-6 years of legal experience within the renewable energy sector, having a background in a law firm with a focus on energy, or experience with solar or energy storage development firms, investment banks, or private equity. Experience from a large law firm is highly regarded.
