Role Overview
As a Physician Assistant specializing in Primary Care, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the well-being of individuals through various clinical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct thorough history and physical examinations for both new and returning patients, including those requiring follow-up care. Collaborate with the supervising physician as necessary. 20%
2. Provide ongoing health maintenance and follow-up care in alignment with established protocols or specific directives from the supervising physician. 20%
3. Initiate and oversee appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment plans based on your training and experience. 10%
4. Offer guidance and education to patients on health-related matters. 10%
5. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with established standards. 10%
6. Execute therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as per your qualifications and under the direction of the supervising physician. 10%
7. Engage in effective communication with patients and their families, adhering to state law confidentiality and HIPAA regulations regarding health inquiries. 10%
8. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and other professional development activities within your practice area. 10%
Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications: PA - Physician Assistant upon hire (Required)
Skills: Proficient in active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, and sound judgment.
Work Environment
Majority of work performed indoors (67% or more). Potential exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards (1-33%). Tasks may involve contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
Physical Demands
This position requires light work capabilities.
