Job Title: Deputy Sheriff - Part-Time

Join the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office/Jail Division as a Part-Time Deputy Sheriff. This role is responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, and protecting the citizens of Dougherty County.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support law enforcement efforts.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share information and resources.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be certified under the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Act.
  • Must be able to clear a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with preferred formal training, special courses, or specialized advanced training in law enforcement or a closely related field.
  • Six (6) months of relative experience preferred.
