We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team at Dougherty County, GA. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the values of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce local, state, and federal laws to ensure public safety and security.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and testify in court as needed.
- Provide support to the community through educational programs, outreach, and community policing initiatives.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest laws, procedures, and technologies.
- 21 years of age with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred formal training, special courses, or specialized advanced training in law enforcement or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of state/local laws and the County geographical area and road system.
- 6 months of relative experience preferred.
- Currently certified as a Peace Officer by Georgia P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) Council or able to become certified within 6 months of employment.
- GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) certified or able to become certified within 6 months of employment.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite computer programs.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Ability to speak and interpret Spanish or current P.O.S.T. certification.
- Training, special courses, or specialized advanced training in law enforcement or a closely related field.
