Position Summary

The Project Manager is tasked with overseeing project timelines and budgets while devising and executing technical solutions and construction techniques based on design specifications and visual representations. This role demands the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Candidates should have hands-on experience in scheduling, effective communication, and fabrication or general construction practices. Willingness to travel as project demands dictate is essential. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to develop accurate project cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and review all technical drawings with the CAD Department to ensure alignment with designer layouts and visual aids.
  • Oversee and review detailed assembly and installation drawings for production use during load-in.
  • Research and procure materials and hardware necessary for the construction of designed units.
  • Maintain active communication with the construction team and manage shop production schedules in collaboration with the Shop Foreman.
  • Work closely with department heads and subcontractors to achieve budgetary and scheduling objectives.
  • Engage with clients and supervisory staff throughout the design and construction phases of projects.
  • Manage project scope changes and assess their budgetary implications.
  • Track and report project expenditures against the budget.
  • Ensure safety oversight and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in technical theater and/or scenic fabrication.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, and MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and make decisions aligned with both short- and long-term project goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented work ethic.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.
