Job Overview

At The Bradbury Group, we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team in Ashland, VA. This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to design machine assemblies and components using computer-aided design software.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, company-paid life insurance, 401(k) matching, and tuition reimbursement.

About the Role

The successful candidate will analyze product specifications and performance requirements to develop mechanical designs and drafting that can be produced by existing manufacturing methods. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing machine assemblies and components with due regard to safety, economy, and ease of fabrication and operation.
  • Analyzing problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborating with engineering personnel and other department employees to clarify or resolve problems.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and Inventor software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematics and mechanical design concepts.
