Theatrical Wardrobe Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Theatrical Wardrobe Specialist to join our team at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. As a key member of our wardrobe department, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining costumes for our productions, working closely with actors, stage managers, and other crew members to ensure seamless show execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and maintain costumes for OSF shows, including assisting actors with dressing and costume changes during each performance.
- Create show tracks by collaborating with stage managers, problem-solving complicated show moments, taking notes, and creating run lists and other paperwork.
- Model and support the mission and values of OSF by demonstrating inclusive behavior, creating a safe and anti-racist working environment, recognizing micro-aggressions, and interrupting othering behaviors.
- Launder items that need immediate attention during the show or post-show, and perform basic repairs, steaming, ironing, and other maintenance duties as assigned.
- At least 2 years' experience in professional theater or live entertainment as a costume run crew technician (or dresser).
- Ability to read, listen, and prioritize tasks, communicate effectively about body proportions, hair textures, skin tones, and genders using respectful and equitable language.
- Basic hand and machine sewing skills, experience with home and industrial sewing machines, and knowledge of how to do craft repairs such as jewelry repair, shoe maintenance, and riveting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and cloud-based information sharing systems.
- Able to lift and carry 40 lbs, climb ladders, stairs, ramps, push and pull loads and carts, and reach above shoulders to restock boxes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and maintain a positive and respectful work atmosphere.
This is a seasonal position requiring standard workweek hours from Tuesday through Sunday, with night-time and weekend hours regularly required. Overtime may be necessary, especially during technical rehearsal periods. A variable, split-shift schedule is also expected.
The estimated salary range for this position is $24.00 per hour.
