Theatre Lighting and Sound Specialist at Southern Oregon University

We are seeking a talented Theatre Lighting and Sound Specialist to join our team at Southern Oregon University. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our students.
About the PositionThis is a full-time, nine-month tenure-track position that will begin on September 16, 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in lighting, sound, and projections for theatre production, as well as serving as an academic advisor for undergraduate design and technical students.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in lighting, sound, and projections for theatre production
- Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate design and technical students
- Develop and implement curriculum plans for the Theatre Department
- Mentor students in the development of their skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Master's degree in Theatre or a related field, with a minimum of one year of university teaching experience. They must also have professional credits in lighting, sound, and/or projections for theatre, as well as demonstrated excellence in written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsCandidates with traditional and online teaching experience in a college or university setting in lighting, sound, or projections are preferred. Experience with ETC Lighting systems and industry-standard lighting and sound equipment is also highly desirable.
