Job Summary

The Per Diem Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures in our state-of-the-art operating room. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the needs of the team, and providing exceptional support to our surgeons and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment
  • Prepare and set up surgical supplies and equipment
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts
  • Gown and glove surgeons and assistants
  • Assist with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Scrub Technician Program or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
