Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Transplant Coordinator to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary transplant team, you will play a vital role in coordinating the care of patients undergoing solid organ transplantation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the transplant program administrator to develop and implement short, intermediate, and long-range plans for the transplant program.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement efforts to maximize patient and graft survival outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about the transplant process and what to expect during each phase.
  • Coordinate the clinical, psychosocial, and financial needs of transplant patients, including pre-operative testing and consultation to determine transplant candidacy.
  • Monitor inpatient status, discharge needs, and follow-up care per program standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Three (3) years of professional nursing experience, including two (2) years in transplant, critical care, or disease-specific areas.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
