Pancreatic Islet Cell Transplant Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Pancreatic Islet Cell Transplant Nurse Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of our transplant program. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to coordinate the care of patients undergoing pancreatic islet cell transplantation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the transplant program administrator to develop and implement short, intermediate, and long-range plans for the transplant program.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement efforts to maximize patient and graft survival outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and their families about the transplant process and what to expect during each phase.
- Coordinate the clinical, psychosocial, and financial needs of transplant patients.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by documenting and maintaining patient transplant information in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Three (3) years of professional nursing experience, including two (2) years in transplant, critical care, or a disease-specific area.
