We lead the charge in transforming security through effective program and project management to mitigate risks at Cloudflare while collaborating to develop optimal solutions for our clients.

About the Position

We are tasked with addressing significant security challenges on a large scale. As a Security Program Manager within our team, you will be instrumental in identifying, defining, and executing pivotal security initiatives aimed at minimizing risks at Cloudflare. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing strong relationships across various teams within Cloudflare and excelling in communication to maintain alignment.
  • Transforming concepts and ideas into actionable program and project plans, serving as the advocate for change.
  • Assisting in the long-term planning of program roadmaps, managing project updates in accordance with the roadmap, and reporting on project-level objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Facilitating decision-making processes that propel programs and projects forward.
  • Coordinating alignment on resource allocation and capacity.
  • Identifying stakeholders and fostering alignment, including tracking dependencies.
  • Maintaining a prioritized backlog of change initiatives.
  • Providing regular program updates, reports, and metrics that summarize progress for executives and board members.
  • Leading discussions with key internal and external stakeholders to make critical decisions, define requirements, and estimate project efforts.
  • Managing changes to project scope, timelines, outcomes, and budgets.
  • Implementing a project management framework that includes milestones, communication strategies, decision logs, and risk assessments.
  • Overseeing vendor procurement processes.
  • Concluding projects with evaluations of objectives achieved, stakeholder alignment on success, and lessons learned.
  • Balancing long-term vision and roadmap with immediate high-risk security concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in technical program or project management, preferably with a focus on security.
  • Outstanding change management and communication abilities.
  • A talent for ensuring teams and stakeholders consistently work towards desired outcomes.
  • PMP PMI certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to navigate tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and uncertainty.
  • Exceptional skills in communication, presentation, organization, and analysis.
  • Experience in developing programs globally from inception.
  • Proficient in identifying and coordinating cross-functional dependencies.
  • Capability to prioritize and advance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable communicating with both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Insightful in understanding and planning for technical dependencies and their impacts on other teams and projects.
  • Principled decision-making based on a comprehensive understanding of business direction.
  • Ability to influence and inspire individuals across various job functions.
  • Willingness to collaborate with teams across different time zones and engage in travel as necessary.
