Operations Manager Job Description

At POOLCORP, we're seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the procurement and distribution of products to our sales centers. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, managing inventory, and supervising a team of employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage open sales orders, purchase orders, vendor claims, and transfers
  • Ensure proper warehouse safety procedures and review warehouse operations
  • Consult with regional buyers and vendors to obtain product information and negotiate prices
  • Manage inventory levels, prevent stockouts, and reduce excessive inventory
  • Perform cycle counts to prevent inventory shrinkage
  • Manage freight expenses and approve invoices for payment
  • Supervise the preparation and shipment of orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers
  • Train new employees on warehouse and distribution procedures
  • Collaborate with inspection and quality control personnel to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of operations experience in industrial distribution or warehouse environment
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ employees
  • Strong communication and computer skills, including MS Office and inventory management software
  • Knowledge of industrial product lines, such as pool and spa equipment, chemicals, and construction materials
