Job Title: Bridge Inspection Engineer

Benesch is seeking a skilled Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our team. As a Bridge Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting routine and special inspections of existing bridges and structures to assess their condition, identify defects, and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, mobilize, and assist a team of bridge inspectors and engineers.
  • Conduct inspections of bridges and structures to assess their condition and identify defects.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all inspections are conducted in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering degree or related field.
  • Colorado PE License desired.
  • Successful completion of one or more of the following FHWA-NHI courses: Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges, Bridge Inspection Refresher Training.
  • 2-4+ years of relevant bridge inspection experience, DOT experience is a plus.
  • Bridge design experience is a plus.
  • Experience with meeting coordination and public outreach is a plus.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including work outside on foot for extended periods, including fieldwork around bridges.
  • Training in scour analysis and design, stream stability, fracture critical members, especially AWS, ASNT, confined space, certified climbing, and quality control of reports a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple project sites, including out-of-town.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
