Drainage Engineer-in-Training Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Drainage Engineer-in-Training to join our Denver, CO based Transportation Group. As a key member of our project team, you will work on public infrastructure improvement projects, focusing on storm sewer, ditch, culvert, grading, and revetment design, best management practice design, stormwater management plans, water quality analysis, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing drainage analysis on transportation projects in Colorado and Utah
  • Completing 2D hydraulic modeling and preparing hydraulic reports for bridge replacement projects
  • Understanding and guiding projects through regulatory agency permitting processes
  • Conducting field visits, site inspections, and preparing report documents
  • Designing and overseeing preparation of plans and details using Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads
  • Assisting in writing drainage and water quality sections for water quality documents

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • 0-4 years of hydrology or hydraulics design experience related to interstate and roadway projects
  • Familiarity with Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads software

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of CDOT or Colorado local agency drainage design standards and demonstrated work experience with storm drain modeling software.
