As a Registered Nurse at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Concord, you will be working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment in our Endoscopy suite. This role offers day-time hours with no weekends or holidays, providing a great work-life balance. Your duties will include pre-procedure assessment, placement of IVs, and post-procedure care. We will provide training during orientation for ACLs and IV skills.
Responsibilities
As a Practitioner, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care. You will also utilize critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary. You will practice in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent, and assist patients and families in expressing self-determination. You will actively seek feedback and act to improve performance, engaging in the governance of practice.
As a Leader/Decision Maker, you will manage interpersonal relationships for yourself and with others. You will mentor colleagues for the advancement of nursing practice and the profession. You will assume authority and accountability for the nursing care of patients while appropriately delegating elements of care to other members of the care delivery team in accordance with laws, regulations, and policies and procedures. You will prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes.
As a Scientist, you will actively seek out the most current evidence and standards and apply and translate to daily practice. You will role-model a culture of inquiry, developing new knowledge by contributing to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice at the local level.
As a Transferor, you will communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice. You will actively partner with others to effect change that produces positive outcomes through the exchange of knowledge. You will precept the student nurse, nurse extern, nurse resident, experienced clinical nurse, and other members of the healthcare team. You will perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 1 year of experience.
Associate Degree (ADN) prepared nurses with 2 years' experience.
Required Licensure/Certifications
Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire and as applicable, higher level per unit certification requirements as stated on the grid attached to the AHA and Life Support Policy
ACLS Certificate required upon hire in Endoscopy, Tele-ICU, Day Surgery Center at CGP (Manchester), Life Safety and Cardiology-Echocardiography
