At Lam Research, our Engineering Technicians play a crucial role in the assembly and testing of cutting-edge semiconductor machinery. They are responsible for identifying and assisting in the development of methodologies and protocols aimed at enhancing the manufacturing process to ensure superior product quality for our clients.
These technicians collaborate closely with engineering teams to address challenges associated with new product launches, focusing on manufacturability, as well as the form, fit, and function of future production runs. They are tasked with identifying and rectifying discrepancies in the bill of materials and troubleshooting complex semiconductor processing equipment while engaging with both engineering and management personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurately interpreting and adhering to work instructions for effective product assembly.
- Generating Problem Reports (PRs) and inspection guidelines; working in tandem with engineers to tackle issues related to new product introductions.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and software challenges within a manufacturing assembly context.
- Completing mandatory safety training and consistently following safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Conducting Risk Management By Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and documenting, correcting, or escalating safety concerns to the appropriate parties.
- Collaborating effectively within a team in a dynamic, time-sensitive setting.
- Maintaining an organized and tidy workspace.
Qualifications:
- One of the following is required: Associate's degree in electronics or a related technical field with four years of relevant military or work experience; Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant military or work experience; six or more years of military or work experience in electronics or a related technical field; or four or more years of experience in the semiconductor industry in a building or troubleshooting capacity.
- Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities.
- Willingness and capability to install components from heights ranging from 12 to 71 inches and reach into machinery to perform necessary tasks.
- Proficient in operating computer interfaces and navigating diagnostic software.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work Front End Day shifts.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to squat, kneel, walk, climb (stairs and ladders), and stand for over 50% of the time; lift and install items weighing up to 35 pounds manually; and push or pull assembly dollies as needed.
