The

Clinical Microbiology Laboratory

is on the lookout for a skilled

Microbiology Operations Specialist

to oversee all laboratory functions.

We are making significant strides to redefine the possibilities in Laboratory Medicine. Our state-of-the-art clinical laboratories utilize advanced technology and automated systems, enabling our teams to achieve results more swiftly and efficiently, with a strong focus on applied and translational research.

We are dedicated to the growth and advancement of our department and fully endorse the active collaboration of scientists, clinicians, and industry experts to develop next-generation laboratory methodologies.

It is an exciting period for the Laboratory Medicine Department as many of our teams have transitioned into our new innovative laboratory facility. This new building enhances operational efficiency, allowing our Laboratory Medicine team to deliver test results more promptly while minimizing the amount of blood required from patients to generate those results.


Role Overview:
Perform technical responsibilities in laboratory sections with minimal oversight, as assigned.
Maintain comprehensive, accurate, legible, organized, and current records/logs/files.
Ensure the precision of all tests conducted by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct routine and advanced equipment maintenance.
Comply with all relevant laboratory, departmental, and institutional policies and procedures related to billing.

Engage in and promote the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of noncompliance with departmental and institutional billing policies and procedures.

Ensure data consistency and adherence to QC guidelines.
Provide guidance, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned.

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences required
2+ years of demonstrated experience required; Microbiology experience preferred
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
ASCP certification preferred
