Job Overview

The Pharmacy Care Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity to support the successful implementation and execution of all pharmacy programs and processes at akjY5KlF5JtGg4. This position requires excellent organizational skills, customer service skills, and verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, clinical staff, contracted providers, and managers.

Responsibilities
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to receive and respond to escalated pharmacy inquiries from various communication venues, including phone queues, portals, claim queues, department email boxes, or fax.
  • The selected candidate will coordinate and assist in the initial screening of Medical Assistance Program (MAP) enrollment requests via all communication venues, as well as administrative preparation for clinical staff.
  • This role involves conducting in-bound and out-bound calls for program requirements, including patient scheduling, surveys/screenings, reminder calls, census management, and distribution of materials to appropriate clinical personnel or patients.
  • The ideal candidate will initiate the process of granting, modifying, denying, or terminating assistance, or referring applicants to other agencies for assistance.
  • The selected individual will collect and maintain eligibility information in an appropriate and confidential manner.
  • This position requires interviewing applicants by phone for program requirements.
  • The selected candidate will enter all assigned applications within a specified time frame to ensure eligibility deadlines are met accordingly.
  • The Pharmacy Care Coordinator must exhibit excellent phone and communication skills while providing complete and accurate information to customers.
  • The role requires requesting additional or supplemental information via correspondence to complete applications.
  • The selected individual must adhere to assigned schedules and quality metrics.
  • This position involves using a multi-lined telephonic system to answer calls regarding eligibility requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will maintain awareness of program qualifications to troubleshoot problems that may arise during the eligibility process.
  • The selected individual may serve as a subject matter expert for other Care Team Associates on the Quality Pharmacy team.
  • The Pharmacy Care Coordinator must complete calls/assignments and ensure census management, productivity weekly and monthly standards are met.
  • This role requires providing clerical and/or administrative support to clinical staff and managers for special studies, projects, and reports.
  • The selected individual must provide excellent customer service by serving as a resource to all internal and external customers.
  • The role requires attending required meetings and participating in special committees as needed.
  • The Pharmacy Care Coordinator must perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma/GED (or higher) is required.
  • Candidates should possess 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Experience in a call center setting is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook, is necessary.
