Health Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will assist our Medical Physicists in implementing our Medical Physics Program in Diagnostic Radiology and our Radioactive Materials Program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct biennial, annual, semiannual, and quarterly radiation safety/quality assurance testing of radiological imaging equipment, including radiographic, fluoroscopic, computed tomographic, magnetic resonance imaging, dental radiographic, and primary diagnostic monitors.
- Inspect lead protective garments annually.
- Participate in radiation protection surveys.
- Set up and decontaminate patient rooms used for radionuclide therapy.
- Perform other Health Physics duties during radiopharmaceutical therapies.
- Calibrate survey meters.
- Manage radioactive waste.
- Respond rapidly to incidents involving radioactive material contamination.
- Masters degree in Physics or Applied Physics.
- Three years of experience working in Health Physics or Medical Physics.
- Thorough understanding of the requirements of Article 175 of the New York City Health Code.
- Limited permit in Medical Physics.

The salary range for this role is $76,721.83 - $99,259.11 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
