Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Waste Management Operator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of disposal facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct maintenance and operational tasks at disposal facilities, including the management of DHI equipment, maintenance of oil-water separators, and operation of pumps and evaporation systems.
  • Manage landfill and disposal operations in accordance with state permit requirements, utilizing the provided machinery.
  • Exercise stop work authority when necessary and address any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Act as the primary company representative during contractor visits, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promptly report any incidents, operational challenges, or equipment malfunctions to the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for notifying mechanics regarding service needs, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
  • Maintain accountability for tools and supplies on the DHI vehicle, ensuring they are replenished as required.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
  • Complete daily timecard entries accurately, including start, lunch, and end times.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 1 year in the oil and gas sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, and front-end loaders.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform job duties in various weather conditions and adapt to changing tasks as necessary.
  • Proficient in operating a 4WD vehicle in off-road environments.
  • Capable of working independently when required.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • CDL certification is preferred.

WORKING HOURS:

  • Work schedule may vary based on operational needs, with potential for on-call duties.
