Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist

Community Medical Centers is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our team in Fresno, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cath Lab Technologist to assist physicians and cardiovascular nurses with various invasive cardiovascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and cardiovascular nurses with invasive cardiovascular procedures, including heart catheterizations, PCI, pacemaker insertion, pericardiocentesis, and cardioversion.
  • Perform non-invasive procedures such as echocardiograms, treadmills, and pacemaker evaluations.
  • Provide accurate test data to physicians and ensure quality images and data analysis for interpretation.
  • Ensure quality care, safety, and general comfort of patients undergoing diagnostic testing.
  • Prepare for invasive procedures by preparing sterile tables and scrubbing.
  • Record and burn procedure images onto compact discs and file them appropriately.
  • Order and stock supplies for the Cath Lab.
  • Calibrate and balance equipment such as pressure recorders, transducers, digital analyzers, and other electronic diagnostic machines.
  • Connect patients to electrocardiographic monitoring systems prior to catheterization or other procedures.
  • Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and cardiac tracings throughout catheterization procedures.
  • Make post-examination calculations from data gathered.
  • Assemble all calculations, recorded data, and log sheets after the examination and prepare them into a final report for use by the cardiologist.
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment and safety requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
  • Assist cardiologists performing electrophysiology studies with special knowledge in 3D mapping, cardiac ablation, and transseptal approach.
  • Scrub to assist cardiologists with transseptal approach.
  • Perform operation of EP mapping and ablation equipment, and data collection.
  • Reprogram pacemakers and ICDs.
  • Perform echocardiograms.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required.
  • Two years of college with coursework in Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology required.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and/or a healthcare setting required.
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
  • One of the following certifications required: RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or NATIONAL - National Certification related to specialty and applicable to role.
