- Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
- Build accountability for policies and procedures and measure adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Review variances to inventory reports, conduct operational and pre-inventory reviews, and gather data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities.
- Conduct investigations relating to company operations and policies, gather evidence, take statements, write case reports, and provide courtroom testimony as needed.
- Partner in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities.
- Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place.
- Supervise safety team members, identify accident trends, and develop and implement solutions to prevent accidents.
- Observe workplace practices and provide training to associates on accident prevention techniques.
- Communicate plans to minimize accidents and oversee safety reviews to implement plans to improve workplace safety.
- Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and claims and receiving procedures.
- Review the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls.
- Identify gaps in expectations versus training, determine training needs, and develop and deliver training as needed.
- Manage claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensure the timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries and provide direction for claims or receiving issues.
- Maintain necessary documentation and reporting.
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
- Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identify and communicate goals and objectives, and build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results.
- Identify and address improvement opportunities and demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Implement related action plans, utilize and support the Open-Door Policy, and provide direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Completion of 2 years of college.
- Option 2: 1 year's experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
- Option 3: 1 year's experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment.
- Option 4: 2 years' experience in asset protection or related area.
- Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection.
- Acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certification in an asset protection-related field (for example, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
- Investigative experience.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
- Sales Volume Category (SVC) (based on facility sales volume).
- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges).

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.
Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00
