Lead Architect Position at Northern Impact

Northern Impact is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to join our team in San Francisco. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading design teams from concept to documentation and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a high-level client contact and maintain a positive and professional relationship with the client throughout the project.
- Coordinate contracts and recognize when contract scope has changed or been exceeded, proposing solutions to correct such situations.
- Assist the client with reviewing their budget, schedule, and other project goals, communicating these goals to the full team and being responsible for their implementation over the full duration of the project.
- Assemble consultant teams and in-house teams, leading the full team through all phases to project completion.
- Serve as a mentor for your team members and potentially others in the office.
- Research, promote, and implement new building systems.
- Oversee the company's financial performance on managed projects.
- Participate in firm management and leadership activities, such as staffing resource allocation, performance reviews, business development, marketing, attending and speaking at events, and membership in professional and/or community organizations.
- 10+ years of experience with all phases of architectural and interiors projects, with large-scale multi-family, hospitality, and/or mixed-use experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success completing one or more buildings as a project architect.
- Professional degree in architecture.
- License required; California license preferred.
- Experience negotiating, executing, and coordinating the architect's responsibilities under a contract.
- Understands basic risk management strategies, including protection of both the firm and the client.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience reporting to a project manager and with their guidance, directing a team of architects, designers, and consultants on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, both in-house and out-of-house.
- Demonstrated success with making difficult decisions, especially in the presence of incomplete information or conflicting interests.
- Strong organizational and technical capability, including demonstrated experience with preparing, coordinating, and issuing drawing and specification submissions.
- Extensive experience with zoning and building codes, and entitlement and permit approvals. Experience with San Francisco or other California jurisdictions preferred.
- Revit proficiency.
