Academic Faculty Position in American Government/Politics

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor in American Government/Politics to join our faculty at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will have a strong research record and a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed outlets
- Seek external funding for research
- Support the Department's instructional mission through teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Support the Department's research and teaching missions through service
- Ph.D. in political science
- Strong research record with substantive scholarly interests related to American politics - political communication
- Interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and scholarship
- Scholarly background, interest, and/or experience that will contribute to the Department's graduate course offerings and undergraduate courses in political communications
- Potential to contribute to the university's efforts to enhance and maintain an inclusive environment for learning, teaching, research and service
- Potential to create synergies with existing departmental faculty in political methodology, all fields of American politics, and/or political theory
- Potential to collaborate with scholars on interdisciplinary research
- Demonstrated interest in political media, especially new media
- Exhibit a record of funded research or strong potential for external funding
