About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our greenfield substation project in Reno, NV. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing EPC-type projects in high-voltage transmission, distribution, and substation construction. The role involves overseeing project planning, directing, and coordinating construction activities with direct reports, customers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs stay within forecasted ranges.
    • Prepare and submit project schedules, cost reports, and progress updates to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with project teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Review and negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records.
    • Prepare and submit project reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Issue Resolution:
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
    • Lead meetings to discuss and resolve project-related issues.
  • Material and Quality Management:
    • Develop and oversee project material trackers and inventory management.
    • Monitor and control construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Mentor and guide assistant project managers and project coordinators.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction or a related field.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively.
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
