Job Title: Substation Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technical specialists in the design and implementation of high-voltage substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical specialists in the design and implementation of high-voltage substation projects
  • Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects
  • Provide direction on projects to the department or project team members
  • Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position
  • Manage all project long lead major material orders to minimize risk of delays or exceeding the project budget
  • Support assigned project commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives
  • Collaborate with component OEMs to enhance/adapt their designs to better integrate with NEE philosophies
  • Conduct external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
  • Provides coaching, leadership, and direction to project teams
Requirements:
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred
  • Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action. PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus
