Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Baker Lead to join our team at SusieCakes Holdings, LLC. As a Pastry Baker Lead, you will be responsible for leading our pastry team to create high-quality baked goods, managing daily production, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of pastry bakers to mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner
  • Assign daily production tasks to team members and ensure their completion
  • Ensure that all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to food safety code standards
  • Assist in processing guest orders and support daily and future business needs
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, sheeters, and three-compartment sinks
  • Monitor and maintain product inventory levels to minimize waste and overproduction
  • Adhere to COVID-19 standard operating procedures
  • Conduct wellness checks in the absence of the General Manager or Head Baker
  • Perform opening and closing shifts as scheduled
  • Assist and train culinary team members as directed by the Head Baker
  • Assist the guest service team with guests as needed

Requirements:

  • Two years of previous culinary experience, with pastry experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to safely utilize all bakery equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in multiple locations and adapt to a flexible schedule
  • Ability to transport product and make deliveries when needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds

Education:

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • High school diploma or GED

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English

Other:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
