Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Paralegal Studies department at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in Paralegal Studies, including law and legal assisting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses in Paralegal Studies, including law and legal assisting
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse student populations
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success
  • Stay current with developments in the field of Paralegal Studies and incorporate best practices into teaching and curriculum development
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
  • OR - JD or LL.B.
  • OR - Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent
  • OR - Any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent
  • Ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction
  • Ability to effectively engage with and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences
  • Ability to adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class
  • Ability to self-reflect and respond to an evidence-based assessment of student learning
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
