The Price Risk and Control (PRC) function serves as a primary cross-asset risk and control entity, facilitating controls to manage operational risk, valuation risk, and governance aspects associated with maintaining the integrity of Price Risk. The team collaborates closely with Global Markets Trading Businesses, In-Business Risk (IBR), Finance, and the second line of defense in establishing standards and procedures, leading governance efforts, and building robust controls across relevant processes and activities within the Price Risk Framework. This role necessitates a solid understanding of Price Risk processes (whether in first or second line risk management and/or valuation control) and change management skills to define, organize, and coordinate a comprehensive program of work across various business units and regions. It will support organizational functions in driving transformation in core risk and control processes, requiring collaboration with stakeholder groups to establish a best-in-class target state, complete with a solid control framework and actionable steps to achieve it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish processes for effective internal Data Management controls by overseeing business data quality reports alongside relevant key indicators and metrics, while spearheading continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate inherent risks.
  • Participate in a triage process, prioritizing business needs and offering proactive guidance to partners.
  • Develop Data Quality reporting through the definition and execution of business, data, and system-related control and remediation frameworks at capture points to address data quality exceptions.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proficient understanding of structured project management methodologies within a front office context.
  • Experience in data management, regulatory initiatives, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with data methodologies/frameworks and a clear understanding of the necessity and impact of controls, thresholds, and Data Quality rules, as well as fundamental data terminology.
  • Proven experience in managing data process flows from front to back, encompassing risk and control, markets, operations, and support areas within a large financial institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with stakeholders to implement changes and comprehend process impacts regarding issue resolution and controls, either as a consultant or within an internal change group.
  • Knowledge of global markets trading products (including Fixed Income, Equity, Currencies, and Commodities) and/or securities services (such as Prime and Clearing).
  • Experience in analyzing legislative, regulatory, supervisory, and legal/compliance texts.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, or similar control functions.
  • Strong project management capabilities; adept at achieving consensus among project teams and effectively driving initiatives to completion.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify necessary remediation steps when issues arise.
  • Ability to collaborate with other data management roles, including Process Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Understanding of the process's purpose within the broader business context, including the products involved, the data captured, and the reports generated.
  • Hands-on expertise in implementing structured business/operational processes and documenting business requirements.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to produce clear documentation and engage effectively with management and executives.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (for metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (for presentations), and Word (for procedural and technical documentation).
  • A proven track record of successful delivery is essential.
