Cash Handling Specialist

The Cash Handling Specialist is responsible for the collection and count of slot and table games cash boxes from the gaming floor and subsequent cash and ticker count conducted in the count room in accordance with company Internal Control Policies and Procedures as well as state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and count cash boxes from slots and table games in strict adherence to Internal Control Policies and Procedures.
- Record accurate count of each box in count system/sheet and reconcile amounts with other count Team Members.
- Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork to support and reconcile all money and vouchers collected and counted.
- Work with count machines and coin rollers in accordance with departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist other count Team Members in moving the box cart with a maximum four hundred (400) pounds, multiple times per week.
- Count and verify all bundled and loose cash transactions to and from the cashier.
- Responsible for communication within their department manager ensuring that information is shared with Team Members. It is important that Team Members inform their management team of information necessary to the efficiency of casino operations.
- Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values of Fun, Friendly and Community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Must have ability to:
- Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.
- Work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Extended time on your feet.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Job Qualifications
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in cash handling preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have excellent math skills, legible handwriting, hand dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance.
Must have an optimistic outlook, proven track record of leading, inspiring, proven track record of success in service excellence, attention to quality details, great communication skills and know how to deliver fun.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities
In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
- Obtain required license(s).
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
- Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
- Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
