Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to optimize efficiency throughout the manufacturing network of Pactiv Evergreen. This involves a continuous evaluation of essential processes and systems, along with the execution of initiatives that yield sustainable benefits. By conducting thorough technical evaluations, you will create and implement focused strategies to address operational gaps within the facilities. As advancements in manufacturing technology, automation, and optimization opportunities arise, it is crucial to share knowledge, connect, and utilize best practices across our manufacturing sites. This is part of our commitment to developing a Lean Management System to enhance our operations and improve plant performance through the effective implementation of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS).
Key Responsibilities:
Core Job Functions:
- Formulate plans, timelines, and budgets for projects aimed at enhancing existing processes and supporting the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS).
- Identify, prioritize, and carry out continuous improvement initiatives through standardization and consistency.
- Facilitate lean improvement processes utilizing methodologies such as Kaizen.
- Recognize cost-saving opportunities through analysis of product specifications, manufacturing techniques, and equipment adjustments.
- Enhance manufacturing operations by evaluating workflow, spatial requirements, and equipment arrangements to achieve cost reduction, quality enhancement, and increased efficiency.
- Serve as a liaison between technical and operational teams, implementing a variety of CI solutions that elevate operations to new levels of efficiency.
- Identify and manage both internal and external resources necessary for executing targeted skills development.
- Possess knowledge in areas such as 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, PDCA, or equivalent, along with A3 Problem Solving.
- Ensure compliance with Lean Methodology, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Daily Management, Layered Audit Process, and Business Plan development to minimize waste.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations, either in technical or managerial capacities.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to drive change effectively.
- Strong organizational capabilities, including tracking, coordination across various programs, and effective reporting of status and outcomes to both plant and senior management.
- Experience managing operations across multiple locations simultaneously.
- Proficiency in statistical methods and process improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), team-building abilities, and proven leadership skills across all organizational levels.
- Bi-lingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is advantageous.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Commitment to safety, demonstrating a safety-first mindset in all situations.
