Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in our Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, and other units.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and make recommendations for treatment.
  • Operate and maintain various respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
Requirements:
  • Current CRT or RRT certification.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in Pediatric ICU or Level 3/Level 4 NICU.
  • Preferred skills: Nebulizer therapy, airway clearance, BiPAP, ventilator, HFNC, bronch assist, ABG.
