Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care while overseeing unit operations during assigned shifts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating patient admissions and discharges to optimize care delivery.
  • Participating in the continuous evaluation of patient care quality.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Promoting a patient-centered approach and addressing service recovery needs.
  • Implementing strategies to enhance staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff.
  • Managing staff schedules and ensuring compliance with productivity standards.
  • Overseeing inventory management and supply procurement.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification within 90 days of hire.
  • PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a Compact State.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a diploma from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU/CVICU or Critical Care nursing.
