Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Work with partners and vendors to achieve team goals.
  • Generate budgets related to existing and proposed network projects, services, and hardware.
  • Mentor network team staff, lead, and facilitate the technical work of the team.
  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization's network infrastructure.
  • Prepare RFP's, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for projects and associated efforts.
  • Administer contracts for the network equipment and services.
  • Prepare network budget recommendations.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsources, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  • Assess, approve, and administer equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Develop long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future network/telecommunication needs.
  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware, including routers, switches, access points, etc.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's decision makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent network activities.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of network problems for end users; recommend and implement corrective solutions.
  • Perform network system backup and recovery.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
