  • Outline tasks involved in the project and delegate accordingly.
  • Meet and collaborate with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand products being developed.
  • Review and analyze existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Determine needs for additional staff, machinery, materials, and other resources.
  • Estimate costs of new equipment or capital investment necessary for production.
  • Draft cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research; distribute reports to engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepare and implement a budget based on estimates.
  • Conduct risk assessments; report identified risks to management; provide recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Act as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
