POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grocery Clerk role offers a unique opportunity to engage in various aspects of grocery operations while delivering exceptional customer service. The role is physically demanding, requiring assistance with pricing, stocking, and merchandise rotation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by providing prompt and friendly service.
  • Adhere to the assigned work schedule to ensure adequate coverage in all areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policies.
  • Comply with safety and health regulations at all times.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide knowledgeable support regarding product locations and pricing.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, handling various forms of payment.
  • Participate in receiving and verifying merchandise deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the store.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance service skills and product knowledge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and comprehend instructions.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The role is situated within a climate-controlled grocery environment, with occasional exposure to refrigerated areas. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and sanitary workspace.
