Position Summary
ML Shepard, situated in Los Angeles, CA, is a premier Affordable Housing Community comprising 90 units. The Community Operations Manager is accountable, under the guidance of the Regional Manager, for overseeing all activities at the community. This includes, but is not limited to, general administration, maintenance oversight, directing on-site staff, and managing resources to ensure a stable financial operation.
About Us
Solari Enterprises, Inc. is a comprehensive property management organization with a focus on multifamily affordable housing since 1993. We pride ourselves on our extensive experience and commitment to excellence in all aspects of property management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all community team members
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Ensure accurate resident files are maintained in compliance with established management procedures and funding agency regulations
- Process applications and lease units according to the Resident Selection Criteria
- Build and maintain relationships with local government agencies, including HUD and TAC
- Conduct regular inspections of maintenance work, grounds, and common areas
- Collect rents and manage delinquent accounts
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in property management
- Experience in supervising staff members
- Familiarity with Section 8 housing
- Experience managing periodic inspections (e.g., HUD, TCAC, and City inspections)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills
- Detail-oriented approach
- Reliable transportation
- Valid California driver's license
- Proof of auto insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Experience with Yardi software
- General knowledge of fair housing, 504 ADA, HUD, and Section 42 regulations
- Certified Professional of Occupancy Certification (CPO) - Section 8 only
- Specialist in Housing Credit Management Designation (SHCM) - Section 42 only
- Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) Certification
- Fair Housing Coordinator (FHC) Certification
