As a Senior Manager of Operations, you will oversee all financial, personnel development, and operational goals within our Fulfillment Center. This role is pivotal in managing the various functions and ensuring the site operates efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of quality improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and Lean methodologies to help your team and the Fulfillment Center achieve and surpass operational targets.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, performance, and customer satisfaction of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
  • Establish clear expectations and requirements for Operations and Area Managers, monitor performance, provide constructive feedback, and hold them accountable for their departmental outcomes.
  • Empower Operations and Area Managers by encouraging innovative ideas and integrating them into actionable improvement strategies.
  • Proactively share best practices across all departments and shifts to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers) to secure necessary resources and support for various projects and initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 49 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
  • Regular walking throughout the Fulfillment Center, which spans over a quarter mile.
  • Consistent standing and/or walking, averaging 5 miles daily.
  • Capability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy or lack climate control.
  • Access to all areas of the facility, including safe navigation of ladders, stairs, and gangways.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience with Amazon.
  • At least 7 years of direct management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution setting.
  • Experience with performance metrics, process optimization, and Lean principles.
  • Familiarity with the complete staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak operational periods.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Interest in long-term career advancement through opportunities across multiple Fulfillment Centers nationwide.
