We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Design Engineer to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of technical excellence while achieving client-specific energy and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in HVAC design optimization, energy modeling, and decarbonization analysis, collaborating with other AEC leaders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and design strategies, delivering innovative solutions to client energy goals.
  • Support a team of energy modeling experts and building energy auditors, following ASHRAE standards and conducting lifecycle cost and economic viability analysis.
  • Understand sustainability certification programs such as LEED, Living Building Challenge, and Passive House.
  • Analyze local, state, and federal ordinances, staying current with building codes and sustainable design practices.
  • Guide and mentor team members on sustainable design practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on energy modeling, simulation, and sustainable design.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards related to energy efficiency.
  • Experience with energy modeling software such as IESVE or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of building automation system controls strategy and design principles.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
