Patient Care Technician

Job Summary:
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our team. As a Patient Care Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Collects, reports, and documents patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, and collects specimens.
- Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the Charge RN, including bathing, oral care, linen change, and non-invasive treatments.
- Ambulates, positions, and repositions patients with altered mobility.
- Completes treatments, interventions, tests, and procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Notifies the patient's nurse or Charge RN of any changes in patient condition.
- Manages patient crises appropriately and provides emotional support to patients and their families.
- Functions as an advocate for patients and their families, incorporating cultural, religious, and psychosocial aspects of illness and hospitalization into the plan of care.
- Reports risk management and patient safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Complies with the National Patient Safety Goals and participates in the full continuum of Core Measures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of hospital Med/Surg tech experience strongly preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) approved Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Certification from an accredited nursing assistant program (CNA) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
