Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Coating Line Technician to join our team at Accurus Aerospace Corporation. As a Coating Line Technician, you will be responsible for coating parts to customer specifications, preparing and racking parts, setting up and operating the coating line equipment, and monitoring the coating process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow established work instructions and safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the use, storage, and disposition of hazardous materials.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and address any issues, escalating concerns to Supervisor and/or Maintenance personnel.
  • Prepare parts and set up and operate machines to coat products, operating auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating processes.
  • Weigh or measure chemicals or coatings before adding them to machines, fill hoppers and tanks per specification and operating procedures, and start pumps to mix solutions and fill tanks.
  • Perform test runs to ensure that equipment is set up properly.
  • Examine, measure, weigh, or test sample products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards.
  • Attach and align machine parts, such as rollers, guides, brushes, and blades, using hand tools, and attach hoses or nozzles to machines and make adjustments to obtain the proper functionality.
  • Determine coating quality by performing visual inspections to identify water break-free surface and burns, discolored areas, or other anomalies or defects.
  • Start and stop machine operation, adjust dials, handwheels, valves, or switches to regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure, and circulation, and the flow or spray of coatings.
  • Record operational data on specified forms and comply with quality standards and documentation requirements.
  • Thread or feed items or products through or around machine rollers and dryers.
  • Remove materials, parts, or workpieces from racks using hand tools.
  • Transfer completed items or products from machines to drying or storage areas using handcarts, hand trucks, or cranes.
  • Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Two (2) years in a manufacturing role utilizing automated equipment is required.
  • Experience in anodizing, plating, or other similar metal coating/finishing is preferred.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly. The employee will be exposed to excessive noise, dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors, extreme temperatures, and hazardous equipment.

The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, respiratory protection (if applicable), and safety footwear is required.
